Inspiration: Nik Ainley
Firstly I want to say happy new year to everyone! Hope the holidays were good to you all. This is also me starting my “Project 52” goal for this year, lets hope I keep it up (and lets hope people enjoy reading what I write).
Nik Ainley is one of my favorite graphic designers (definitely in my top 3) and so I thought I would start this series of inspirational web design blog posts with his amazing design work.
Although Nik Ainley is not a web designer as such (he classes himself quite rightly as an Illustrator) I still find a lot of his work very inspirational while designing.
Among other achievements he has had his work featured in a number of magazines, websites and books. He has also worked freelance for a number of large clients including Adobe, Nike and Audi.
My absolute favorite piece of his work is called “Only This and Nothing More”. It was the first piece of his I ever saw (which is possibly why I like it so much) and since then I still don’t think any of his newer pieces compare (in my eyes anyway) to its greatness:
The rest of his work is mainly made up of typography designs and other graphic design pieces. Here are some samples of his great designs:
