Business Cards mark II

Well, since writing that post last month about making myself a business card I have been through a number of revisions/versions of the same card trying to better it. Some I liked (for a while at least), some I disliked.

On all of these images the left side is the front, the right side is the back (not two different designs).

The Original

The Progression

All of these are versions/revisions I came up with. None are finished yet, I need to spend some time sorting out the text on the card and getting a good font/size before I consider going further. Plus I lowered the quality of these images so they wouldn’t be too big for putting up here on the web, in reality everything looks a lot more crisp (i.e. sharper).

I liked this idea, but my original “page curl revealing code” idea doesn’t look so great on the card now so I changed it again:

I quite like this one. I have no real gripes about it anyway. Might add “NDE.Designs” above “Web Design & Development” like what was in the original though.

I did try lowering the opacity of the logo and seeing if it’d look nice blending in as a subtle background kind of thing. It didn’t.

After that I decided to try out another design/suggestion:

This one was mainly because of my whole “what if I want to write on it” thing in the last post. Someone suggested inverting the colours of one side to allow for just that. I’m not sure if I like it though, I think the black background looked more sleek than the white. I might just give up on the writing on it  thing, seems to be causing more problems than it would solve – keeping that in mind while initially designing it may be a better idea and I will keep that in mind (if there is a) next time I design a business card.

So which one?

I was going to post a few more here but the designs were that poor I scrapped them shortly after making them, so they didn’t get saved anywhere (and I don’t really want to make them again just to post them here).

I think I needed to decide on one soon, otherwise I will just keep going through revision after revision until I give up on it. The 2nd design here looks best so far, I’ll go for that one, well, after I clean up the text and do a few final touches that is. The one I’m talking about is this:

I’ll hopefully do the final changes to it this week sometime and finally be done with it.
